InterStim Therapy

InterStim Therapy is a proven neuromodulation therapy that targets communication problems between the brain and the nerves that control the bladder.

InterStim Therapy is done in phases. During the Trial Assessment phase your doctor will place a thin, flexible wire near your tailbone. The wire is taped to your skin and connected to a small external device which you wear on your waistband. The device sends mild electrical pulses to the nerves near your tailbone which may get your bladder working the way it’s supposed to.

If the trial assessment is successful, your doctor will implant an internal device during an outpatient procedure.
